The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce has gone "Mad for Plaid" a little early this year, and guests at the annual Chamber Ball are invited to break out their tartan a little early as well and celebrate "Cheers to 50 Years."
The event, to be held Jan. 27 at the Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa in Palmetto Dunes, will salute the golden anniversary of the RBC Heritage presented by Boeing.
The Lowcountry's favorite blacktie gala will include a night of dinner, dancing, and special awards. Surprises are to be expected.
This year's ball will feature special guest tributes, and an exclusive, one-of-a-kind His, Hers & Ours auction. One of the items for "her" is two tickets to a live studio taping of one of the hottest TV shows in Los Angeles. The show will be revealed at the ball.
The ball is an annual celebration of a year full of accomplishments, awards, milestones and successes of Chamber members.
Each year, the Chamber also recognizes those who have made a lasting and positive impact in our community. Honorees will be announced as the annual community awards are presented at the ball: The Alice Glenn Doughtie Good Citizenship Award, the Outstanding Organization of the Year, the Bluffton Regional Business Council Member of the Year, the Zonta Woman of the Year, the Sue West Educator of the Year, and the Small Business of the Year Award.
New this year, the Grand Marshal of the Hilton Head Island St. Patrick's Day Parade will be announced.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $175 each through Jan. 12, and $185 each after that. Corporate tables are available.
