• In the December-January issue of Golf Digest, the venerable magazine ranks the Best Teachers in Every State, as voted by their peers in the golf instruction industry.

In the rankings, former PGA Tour professional Doug Weaver, longtime director of instruction for Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island, is named among the best teachers in South Carolina.

One of golf's most comprehensive nationwide rankings, the magazine has identified "651 great instructors who fix swings near you" by surveying more than 1,500 golf instructors across the United States.

Weaver was inducted in the Lowcountry Golf Hall of Fame in 2017 and has previously been awarded Hilton Head Island's PGA Teacher of the Year. In 2017, Weaver was also named Teacher of the Year for the Carolinas section of the PGA of America (CPGA). He has served on the CPGA Teachers Committee for three years. In addition, Weaver was recently awarded the 2019 Player of the Year for the CPGA's Lowcountry area.

Dr. Tom Dorsel, president of Sport Psychology of Hilton Head, was featured on NBC's Golf Channel in mid-December, speaking to an international audience about the Presidents Cup competition being played in Australia.

Dorsel discussed the mental challenges of partner and team golf, along with how to think about the different team formats: best ball and alternate shot. Other topics offered included why it is difficult to play with Tiger Woods as a partner, how much advice should you exchange with your partner, why do the Americans seem to struggle with team golf and what can they do about it.

During his 35-year career in sport psychology, Dorsel has appeared on ESPN 10 times, and has authored more than 100 columns for national golf magazines.

Hilton Head Island residents Matthew and Susana Nikravesh have launched Two Maids & A Mop in the area, with the support of the award-winning franchise system.

Matthew brings years of experience owning an IT company that supports the technology needs of small-to-medium-sized businesses. Susana owns a business as well, running a consulting firm that supports small businesses with email marketing, systems and processes.

Two Maids & A Mop will serve communities throughout Beaufort County.

With their new business, the Nikraveshes have also made it a mission to give back to their community and make a difference for local families in need. As such, they have partnered with Cleaning For A Reason, an international nonprofit serving cancer patients through free home cleanings.

Through this partnership, Two Maids & A Mop of Hilton Head assists cancer patients by cleaning two homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This will be an ongoing service to cancer patients in Hilton Head and the surrounding areas.

The 16-year-old brand has a proven history of success across the nation, specifically in customer service. As motivation for the brand's professional house cleaners to ensure a job well done, the Pay for Performance Plan offered by Two Maids & A Mop allows customers to rate the performance of the professional house cleaners on a scale of 1 to 10. That client feedback directly determines the employees' level of compensation for their service. This unique concept provides a line of communication between the customer and the business, so customers feel that they are being heard.
