CFL launches resource for holiday giving, helping

As the holidays approach, many feel a desire give back or help those less fortunate. Local nonprofits plan seasonal drives and activities to ensure their clients experience holiday cheer.

Residents of the Lowcountry answer these calls by donating toys and coats, serving meals, helping at agency's holiday parties or doing other generous acts.

Community Foundation of the Lowcountry has created a special online volunteer resource guide for those seeking an opportunity to help by giving of their time, talent and energy to others. Season of Giving, a new page on the Foundation's Lowcountry Volunteer Connections site, is the perfect resource.

Season of Giving is a listing of holiday needs, drives and volunteer activities in the Lowcountry. Whether one wants to sponsor a family for the holidays, donate a toy or help serve a meal, all the opportunities are listed on Season of Giving.

Visit cf-lowcountry.org/seasonofgiving to find the listings and how to participate.

The list will be updated as the Community Foundation becomes aware of additional opportunities, so visitors are encouraged to check back frequently.

Representatives of nonprofits agencies who would like to post a seasonal need should contact Debbie Cahoon at dcahoon@cf-lowcountry.org or 843-681-9100.
