With this feature, we seek to capture a glimpse of what you and your neighbors have to say about a variety of topics, issues, events - and just plain fun questions. Normally, you might find us anywhere around the community with a camera and note pad, asking simple questions and looking for thoughtful answers. During this coronavirus pandemic, we are practicing social distancing and turned to social media to ask readers and followers: "With the Fourth of July come thoughts and affirmations of 'freedom.' What does 'freedom' mean to you?"
Sissy Jarrell, Hilton Head Island: "Freedom is a privilege earned by demonstrating respect, tolerance and love to our world and others."
Marcia Cornell, Hilton Head Island: "Freedom is the ability to choose your religion, career, lifestyle and mate without fear of punishment."
Brenda Peterson, Nashville, Tenn.: "The ability to breathe unconditionally, without fear, without judgment, without punishment."
Kyle Wallace, Hilton Head Island: "Freedom is the gift of being able to pursue the best life has to offer for our families, friends and community."
Marci Tressel, Hilton Head Island: "The ability to act, think and feel without restraint."
