Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island will mark what the organization describes as its second-most successful season with a year-end event Nov. 10 at Poseidon Rooftop in Shelter Cove.
“Beyond Expectations: Celebrating a Remarkable Season” will run from 5 to 8 p.m. and include a review of the 2026 nesting season, recognition of volunteers and community supporters, and a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the organization’s sea turtle conservation efforts and DNA research.
The silent auction will run from 5 to 7 p.m., with the program beginning at 6 p.m. Sea Turtle Patrol Director Amber Kuehn will present a season wrap-up and recognize some of the people who contributed to the organization’s work during the year.
Throughout the nesting season, Sea Turtle Patrol volunteers monitor Hilton Head Island’s beaches, identify and protect nests and educate the public about sea turtle conservation. The organization also works to help hatchlings reach the ocean.
Those efforts extend beyond monitoring nests. Sea Turtle Patrol encourages residents and visitors to keep beaches dark and clean, fill in holes and remove beach furniture and other potential obstacles. The organization also asks beachgoers to give nesting sea turtles and hatchlings the space they need.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported our programs, donated, volunteered, or simply made a choice to be a better steward of our beaches,” Kuehn said. “Together, we are making a difference.”
The organization credits its volunteer staff, auxiliary members, community partners, donors, residents and visitors with contributing to its work during the 2026 season.
The year-end program will provide an opportunity to review the season’s conservation efforts and recognize volunteers and supporters. Sea Turtle Patrol’s event page identifies 2026 as the second-most successful season in the organization’s history, although it does not provide nesting or hatchling totals or specify how that ranking was determined.
Tickets for the Nov. 10 event are $50 per person and include admission and light bites. A cash bar will be available. Tickets are nonrefundable.
The event will be held at Poseidon Rooftop, 38 Shelter Cove Lane on Hilton Head Island.
Proceeds will support Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island’s conservation work and DNA research.
