After a successful run on the East Coast, an art exhibit celebrating the creativity and teamwork behind restaurant kitchen doors will be on display at the Hilton Head Library beginning January 5th and running through the end of the month.
The exhibit highlights the people who work behind the scenes in the food industry, capturing the dedication and artistry of kitchen crews through painting and mixed media.
“The response to the artwork saluting the food industry has been wonderful, and I am delighted to be hanging the show on the walls of the newly renovated library gallery,” said Danie Connolly, curator of the exhibit.
Artists from as far away as Maine and Georgia are represented in the show. Participating artists include John Gregor, Jeanine Potter, Wade Zahares, K.K. Willson and Connolly. Their works honor the individuals who have built careers in the culinary world.
Several local restaurants generously granted artists access to their kitchens for inspiration. Featured locations include The French Pastry, Scratch, Fishcamp, Club seats, The Hearth, Coffee Perk and Old Bull Tavern, among others.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours.
