Patriotic favorites, stirring melodies and a shared appreciation for military service will bring the community together when the Lowcountry Wind Symphony presents a free concert honoring America’s veterans. The performance begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Bluffton High School and will also celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday.
Co-sponsored by the Sun City Veterans Association, the concert welcomes veterans, families, friends, and everyone who enjoys live music. This marks the fifth year the two organizations have partnered to present a veterans concert in the Bluffton area.
Previously held within Sun City, the concert moved to Bluffton High School this year, opening the doors to a wider audience. Residents can join neighbors from throughout the area for an afternoon that combines musical enjoyment with a heartfelt salute to those who served.
The symphony brings together more than 60 local musicians, ranging in age from 16 to senior citizens, who enjoy sharing their talents with the community. The program is expected to include music from “Band of Brothers” and other familiar selections, with the SCVA Color Guard participating in the tribute.
Whether attending to honor a veteran, celebrate America or simply enjoy an afternoon of live music, listeners will find a welcoming occasion to come together. The Nov. 8 concert offers Sun City residents an opportunity to support this continuing community partnership and applaud those whose service inspires the tribute.
A third concert, Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Dataw Island, a private gated community, is restricted to community residents and their guests.
