The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry awarded $304,500 in Impact Grants to seven nonprofits and organizations during its spring 2026 grant cycle.
The grants support projects and programs focused on human services, arts, special needs inclusion, education, medical services, youth enrichment and food insecurity. The grants are distributed twice each fiscal year to nonprofits and organizations serving people who live or work in southern Beaufort County.
The largest award, $100,000, went to United Way of the Lowcountry to launch and operate a Mobile HELPLINE designed to provide access to services including benefit screening, referrals and case support in communities where residents face barriers.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Lowcountry received $75,000 to launch the Coastal Connections Mobile Club, a mobile program providing academic support, STEM programming and youth development services in underserved neighborhoods.
Main Stage Community Theatre received $35,000 to launch C.R.E.A.T.E., an outreach initiative providing theater education in schools, libraries and community spaces for youth ages 6 to 18.
Heroes on Horseback received $30,000 to purchase a utility vehicle for its equine-assisted therapy program serving individuals with disabilities, children with special needs and veterans with PTSD.
T.R.U. Global Inc. received $25,000 for its TRU Lowcountry Legacy program, which includes youth enrichment programs, athletic engagement, clinics and events.
The University of South Carolina Beaufort received $25,000 to enhance its nursing simulation lab with bladder scanners and nurse call systems for student training in clinical skills.
St. Andrew By-The-Sea UMC Soup Kitchen received $14,500 for a project called “Happy 250th Birthday America,” which will provide food gift cards, bikes with cargo carriers, grocery carts, clothing and school supplies to families served by the soup kitchen.
