Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue has officially dedicated its new headquarters at 10 Park Lane, marking a step toward bringing three key public safety operations under one roof.
The dedication ceremony was held Oct. 22 at the facility, which Fire Rescue administration occupied in February. Plans call for renovations to accommodate the town’s Emergency Operations Center and Fire Rescue’s 911 Communications Center beginning in 2027.
The town purchased the building as part of its efforts to improve coordination among public safety operations and provide additional space for Fire Rescue personnel.
“This building represents more than a new headquarters. It represents the future of Fire Rescue and our continued commitment to this community,” Fire Chief Chris Blankenship said in the town’s announcement of the dedication. “It is a place where our team can collaborate, prepare, and continue leading through presence, protection, and purpose.”
The department thanked Mayor Alan Perry, Town Council, Town Manager Marc Orlando and community members who attended the ceremony.
The headquarters will eventually bring Fire Rescue administration, emergency operations and 911 communications together at one location. Planning is underway for renovations to accommodate the additional functions.
