New animal rescue group plans Hilton Head grand opening

Salty Paws of Lowcountry, a new cat and dog rescue organization, will celebrate its grand opening during a community event scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20.
The family-friendly event will be held in the parking lot at 17 Hunter Road on Hilton Head Island. Pets are welcome.

The grand opening is sponsored by Carolina Custom Solutions, according to organizers.
Salty Paws of Lowcountry provides support for cats and dogs through a variety of programs and services. The organization said its approach includes community-based pet pantries, adoptions, foster opportunities, assistance with trap, neuter, spay and release efforts, community education and animal welfare initiatives.

According to the organization, those efforts are designed to help animals find support and stability and ultimately permanent homes.

Organizers are inviting residents and visitors to attend the opening celebration and participate in the day’s activities.

Looking towards the future, Salty Paws is planning events, including an auction of pet artwork by renowned local artists and photographers and a fun photoshoot for you and your pet capturing the 1960s in the first ever “Lowcountry Woofstock.” The backbone of Salty Paws of the Lowcountry’s mission is to be community driven.

The organization said its mission is centered on a community-driven approach to animal welfare.
