Friends, listeners and community members are invited to celebrate the life of longtime radio personality Mark Robertson during a public event June 28 in Bluffton.

The celebration of life is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at The Barn at New Riverside, 30 Red Barn Drive.

Robertson, a longtime voice of 98.7 The River, died April 25 after battling pancreatic cancer. He spent 48 years in radio and was widely known throughout the Savannah and Bluffton areas for his work on the air and in the community.

Among his contributions was the station’s annual Christmas Wish program, which organizers said helped families facing cancer during the holiday season for 25 years.

The event also will honor Robertson’s longtime support for animals. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations to support the organizations. QR codes will be available for monetary donations, with proceeds shared among participating animal welfare organizations.

The event is open to the public. Organizers encourage attendees to share memories and stories about Robertson, whose broadcasting career and community involvement spanned nearly five decades.
